Previous Day Day5 Next Day
I look at this book and it gives me the creeps, I don't know anything about the previous owner, except that he strangled himself with his own hair. Maybe he couldn't write, or maybe he just wanted to keep his thoughts to himself, maybe he thought that the guards would throw the book away anyways. But on the other hand - how did he get it? Maybe someone threw it into his cell through the window that leads outside to an alley. But anyway...
Yesterday my wife and I came home safe, I didn't have to wait long for her to come out of the school (it was already night though) and we walked home arm in arm. She told me that it will be like that for the next few days to come because there's a difficult test coming up and she doesn't want her students to fail. That's fine with me. I guess.
I carried the rest of the money I got from Officer Weiler to the bank early in the morning today. It's good to know that we have some money saved in case something happens. After leaving the bank I went to Tartek and he told me that the Princess of Insomida had announced a festival at the Insomida Market, and that we had been asked to hand out leaflets to every citizen in town. He showed me his map of Insomida - I think I've already had nightmares about this map - and with his left middle finger he encircled the eastern part of the town and explained his plan.
"This is your target," - his military past came through again - "I will handle everything in the northern area, the rest of the town will be infil- I mean, uhm, handled by Jonar and Bikk. Understood?"
I nodded. He was about to salute, then he realized his mistake and scratched his forehead in the vain attempt to cover the old military reflexes. I smiled.
"Take that bag over there and get the hell out," he shouted with a grin in his face. "And don't you dare come back before you finished your mission!"
This day was actually quite relaxing. I just went from door to door and left a leaflet, instead of trying to figure out the address on a package (some people really should learn how to write - again) and then walking through the whole town to deliver it. I don't like the princess much, but that order was a nice change. On the other hand, tomorrow I will have to carry out the packages that were meant to be delivered today in addition to the packages for tomorrow...
I'm waiting for my wife now. She told me not to wait for her at the school again because she doesn't know when she'll be finished. So I just prepared something warm to eat for her. I'm still kind of worried about her walking around all alone when it's already dark. Then again, she's teaching her students exactly what she would need in case something happens - how to defend themselves.
I'll just go and read the book I bought from Shimad's Shop today. That will distract me until she's back home.
