The Farm - History
The Farm was created by muddasheep and kell.hound around 2000, based on the idea of producing maps together. kell.hound had a project called "the search" and muddasheep was working on various cs-maps (cs_therock, de_basin, cs_remember).

Old Farm

Soon, kell.hound left the farm because of his diablo II clan. At the same time when cs_remember got released a guy called phoenix joined the farm with a conversion of cs_remember for unreal tournament.

Due to some bugs in his map phoenix canceled his remember][ project and started mapping for the Halflife engine. muddasheep's project "Halfquake" was already in progress and soon to be released.

After two cs-maps (de_doom, as_phoenix) and the release of Halfquake Amen on September 1st 2002 phoenix decided to leave The Farm. His as_phoenix map got converted for Halfquake Amen as an additional multiplayer map.

On December 09th 2002 The Farm received a new design, and a new section for reviews and articles, the Sven's Corner.

Unfortunately Sven stopped making reviews early 2003 because of school.

A guy called darrn wanted to make an add-on called "The Next Victim" for Halfquake Amen and so he became a new member of the farm. Soon darrn decided to cancel HQA: TNV because he found something rather interesting. So, his project got deleted.

A few months after the release of Halfquake Amen muddasheep started to create a webbased game called Personal Halfquake which attended a lot of fans. Also muddasheep started a webcomic based on Halfquake Amen. H4ndy, another new member, programmed a standalone version of BombVictims, including a multiplayer feature. After that he began working on a standalone version of ChosenVictim which was canceled some time later.

As a replacement for Sven's Corner a guy called Swartz added some additional reviews. But soon he left The Farm again.

Old Sven's Corner

On the first birthday of HQA (September 1st 2003) muddasheep and TheAwake released a small add-on for Halfquake Amen called "The Present". TheAwake became a full member of The Farm. A few months later (January 2004) muddasheep announced the beginning of Halfquake Sunrise.

In 2005 and 2006 various attempts were made by muddasheep to start the Halfquake Sunrise project. A new member was found to help out with the programming that was needed for the modification, his name was Vino. After a few heavy issues with Halflife's engine the project died again.

During that time muddasheep experimented with other technologies, such as Flash, which spawned the games Phabetal in 2005, and Turnament in 2006, and the sound tool Sound Designer, also in 2006. Another experiment called Antaran's Journal was built to help develop muddasheep's writing skills.

Halfquake Sunrise needed a soundtrack and muddasheep has been developing a few songs during the two years. Finally, after noticing that the songs wouldn't fit into the game anyway because they were too 'personal' muddasheep released the whole bunch of tracks in a compilation called 'Remains' in fall 2006.

In early 2007, realizing that Personal Halfquake stood in the way of further artistic development, muddasheep chose to take an indefinite break from PHQ development, to finally finish other projects, such as Antaran's Journal and the HQA Comic. At the same time, TheNameless called to arms and told everybody to donate $ 100 in total to get another advertisement on dominic-deegan.com which would last one week. The money quickly came together, thanks to TheNameless, Kowiak, Spam, Khimitsu and Flo. The advertisement, which ran from February 5th to February 12th 2007, was a success.

At the same time, since all the previously found members weren't active anymore and/or hadn't contacted muddasheep in quite a while, muddasheep decided to make The Farm his absolute personal project page, merging everything he has ever created into one page. Thus, The Farm received a complete restructuring and overall improvement. The design remained basically the same. And unfortunately, the dusty Sven's Corner was finally removed from the page.

The Farm - Philosophy
The Farm stands for innovative and creative gamedesign and addictive gameplay.

We break rules and limits.

Players should experience new worlds, not the old ones again and again.

Create everything on your own. Copying means laziness.
